New Moon in Gemini: Manifesting Your Creative Ideas

On May 28th at 11:40 AM (PDT) we will have a New Moon in Gemini. The energy of the Moon and the Sun in Gemini will be quite playful and  lighthearted. Gemini is a mental sign, so this New Moon is all about manifesting into form any great ideas you've had recently. Gemini also rules communication, but  Mercury turns retrograde next week, so get any important communicating done this week while the New Moon energy lasts and before the retrograde energy starts to kick in. The New Moon will be exactly square Neptune in Pisces which means our minds will be buzzing with imaginative and creative ideas! New Moons are all about manifesting, so our imaginations and minds may be reeling with ideas, but with the energy of manifestation they don't have to stay ideas, we can manifest them into being!  The New Moon will also be square Mars in Libra which has recently turned direct,  this aspect will heighten our ability to put our ideas into action.

Today May 20th 2014 the Sun moves into Gemini. Happy Birthday month to all you Gemini's out there! In honor of our Sun's descent into Gemini I want to talk about the qualities of Gemini and the personality of a Gemini Sun. 

Gemini is the 3rd sign in the zodiac. Aries teaches us independence, Taurus teaches us how to be stable and grounded, now Gemini teaches us how to interact with the world and gain new insight and information. Gemini is an air sign, meaning the sign of Gemini operates on the mental plane. Gemini's minds are constantly processing information and they like to have constant mental stimulus or otherwise they get bored. The planet that rules Gemini is Mercury which rules the lower mind. Mercury's rulership adds to the mental energy of Gemini. Gemini's are very inquisitive and are constantly learning. They can get a bit too all over the place sometimes though and may have trouble focusing. Gemini's can be quite chatty and charming upon first meeting them as they are pleasant to interact with. Youthfulness is something that goes hand in hand with Gemini. No matter how old they are, they will have a touch of a child about them. They love to play and joke around and most of the time they are quite lighthearted. Gemini is a mutable sign which means that they can go with the flow and are able to be flexible and adaptable. In fact because of this ability to change, people with their Sun in Gemini may have trouble expressing their identity at times and they can be multi faceted. Gemini's archetype is the twins which shows a Gemini's ability to express duality. They are able to explore the two extremes of any situation and to some may appear two faced. Sometimes you never know what you are going to get with them. 

Overall Gemini is such a wonderful, lighthearted sign that knows the importance of learning new things and having fun. While the Sun is in Gemini whether you are one or not,  remember to lighten up, enjoy life and go with the flow. Bask in the playful energy of Gemini! 

Full Moon in Scorpio: Releasing From the Depths

On May 14th 2014 at 12:16 PM (PDT) there will be a full moon in Scorpio. Full moons are always a time for releasing and this one is certainly no exception. This will be a time where we have to dig deep into our subconscious depths and release anything that isn't serving us. Any emotional patterns, obsessions, negative thought patterns or anything else that is not helpful that we are obstinately clinging to, we should let go of at this time.  Saturn retrograde in Scorpio was opposing the Sun lately and it will be loosely conjunct to the full moon.  This means that we should add any control issues to the list of things we should concentrate on releasing at this time. Saturn and the Sun represent the father in astrology at times and the Moon represents the mother. These are the three planets that are involved in the full moon, because of this I feel that some people may need to release any parent issues that may be nagging at their subconscious and possibly contributing to some negative patterns. 

Besides releasing, finding some balance is an important part of this full moon. The full moon in Scorpio is opposing  the Taurus Sun. Therefore this is a good time to try to find a balance between stability and change. It's time to find a happy medium between these two aspects of life, so you can feel more grounded and secure in your life. Emotions are a big part of Scorpio, so of course this full moon is going to deal a bit with deep emotions. Trying to find a a balance between feeling your feelings and expressing them and keeping them stable might be an issue.  Some may even feel a great need to control their emotions because of the Saturn influence. The key is to let yourself feel your feelings without letting them get out of hand. 

You may feel emotional or a bit frustrated during this full moon. It will pass quickly though. Just remember to shine a light on the darkest innermost regions of your subconscious mind and release whatever doesn't serve you that you may find there. That and finding balance in your life and your emotions are the keys to this full moon.
