New Moon in Pisces During a Mercury Retrograde in Pisces

We're a week into a 3 week Mercury Retrograde in Pisces and lo and behold we have a New Moon in Pisces today! A fresh start in the midst of reflecting.

Pisces is a sign that is all about going with the flow. About tuning into your spirit, all that is, the universe and your intuition. It's about fantasy, ideals and imagination. It's about the infinite and infinite possibility. It's definitely a time to dream of what you would like in your life. Don't limit yourself. The possibilities are endless. Yet, it's a time where you should't try to control too much. See where life takes you. See how it unfolds. With the retrograde your mind may seem out to lunch, and while you may have to work extra hard to maintain your daily responsibilities, the intuitive flow state you find yourself in, the emotional connection to everything and the sense of tripping out, could be really interesting. What you need could be found within those spaces. There is already a sense of 'newness' within the retrograde. Although still there may be important things to think about. Take a look at territory you're revisiting. What important insights and discussions come up. Usually Mercury Retrograde happens when a big important decision needs to get made or a big life change is about to happen. Of course it can bring with it the annoyance of technology or appliances going on the fritz. Take your time doing things as it's easy to overlook things. Also, people from the past could come up. A lot of the time this doesn't mean anything, so just be discerning.

Mars in Capricorn is exactly sextile the New Moon, which is really nice because it brings some grounding energy to the rest of it. There's a lot of spacey, dreamy, in another dimension sort of energy, but yet there's quite an emphasis on Capricorn, giving us an anchor. Grounding down our dreams in reality. Mars in Capricorn in general reminds us that just because it's a retrograde we can't stop making our way up the mountain so to speak. Keep moving towards your goals as you discover what the retrograde has to show you. Mars in sextile to the New Moon just emphasizes this. There's a lot of energy. There's propulsion forward. It's a balance between flow and not just sitting still. With this energy, don't decide to just sleep your life away for three weeks, keep going! Make shit happen, just in an in tune, non forceful manner.

The day before the New Moon, the Sun was trine Uranus in Taurus, which still impacts the New Moon. There's lots of change and stimulation about. The unexpected. You certainly can't stay stuck in a rut. Mars was making this aspect earlier this week as well, so there's lots of this energy about. Elements of surprise, the unexpected. Changes. Urges to keep changing. An exciting, stimulating quality. It's a retrograde, but the energy certainly isn't dull.

Then the Sun a couple days after the New Moon will move into a trine with the North Node in Cancer. This energy impacts the New Moon too. We're moving into big destiny points. We're being nudged in the right direction. All of that being water energy, we're being nudged in a direction that we keep being nudged in, that of following our hearts and emotions. Let them be your guide. Like I said the mental energy is out to lunch at the moment, which is probably good because so often that energy doesn't help us out. So tap into those darn feelings! Open up your heart. Heart expansion, heart opening and heart awakening have been the biggest themes since the North Node entered Cancer. This is another big moment along that path.

Last aspect I want to talk about today is not one to the New Moon itself, but happening at the same time. That is, Venus in Aries square Jupiter in Capricorn. There can be some growing pains with relationships or even projects or money maybe. They are the most beneficial and lucky planets though, so this isn't too tense of an aspect. Venus in Aries wants new beginnings in relationships. It wants to begin new projects. Jupiter in Capricorn is about growth, but not in a crazy, fast impulsive way. It's more slow and methodical. Perhaps it's about realizing that things can move forward and things can grow, but be smart in the process. The worst thing that people usually do with Venus square Jupiter is over indulge or overspend, so just be careful of that.

It's an interesting time because there's actually a lot of new energy and new things pushing forward, just during a retrograde where we are also forced to reflect on some things as well. We're moving forward now and preparing to move forward more in the near future. It's a time to move forward, but in a go with the flow type state though too.

Full Moon in Leo: Authenticity, Commitment, Love, Imperfections, the Shadow Side, Discomfort and Speaking From the Heart in One Big Mashup of Energy

The Full Moon in Leo is here, it's just happening exact as I type. There's a lot going on with this one, but I really had to look closely and involve some lesser known astrology in order to see all that.

Let's start with the basics though. A Full Moon in Leo means the Moon is in Leo opposite the Sun in Aquarius. This is a classic aspect of making sure you're expressing yourself and doing what makes your heart sing instead of being caught up in the crowd or what other people think you should do. It's time to get into Leo energy! Express yourself dramatically. Unapologetically. Shine your light. Show your true essence. Play. Lighten up. Let the sunshine in. It's been weird intense times filled with changes, we can't forget who we are and how to give in to the light. This is a time of balancing out who you are with the status quo. It can be about balancing self vs relationships as well. Releasing things in the way of this balance.

There is a lot about relationships though at this time! This Full Moon is particularly relationship heavy. We have asteroid Juno the asteroid of commitment in the sign of Libra, the sign of partnership, in good aspect with the Full Moon. Committed relationships are now culminating and coming together as balance is reached.

Venus is in Aries ready for new things in love. Filled with fire, but woah at the time of the Full Moon it's conjunct Chiron and Black Moon Lilith! I know I talk about Chiron a lot and how it's the wounded healer. Black Moon Lilith if you don't know is a point in space. The point where the Moon is furthest from the Sun. It's our shadow side. Especially shadow feminine. Venus and Lilith together! Oh boy! All that is lovely about the feminine, the goddess of love mixed with the dark feminine, All that is not accepted about the feminine, the temptress. Well it's not just about love, pink clouds and softness. It's about what's remained hidden. Suppressed desires. This is intense! Ladies you may be feeling this one more. Half nice. Half naughty. Half soft feminine, half intense temptress. This is kinda fun energy if you have the right attitude. But regardless, we want love at this time. New beginnings in love. The shadows must be acknowledged and transmuted though. What's remained hidden around love must come to light. Then we have Chiron! There may be vulnerability around love. Wounds can be healed, although not without feeling through the vulnerability. A favorite astrologer of mine calls Chiron Quasimodo aka The Hunchback of Notre Dame. It's like Quasimodo meets up with the goddess of love and beauty and a dark witchy temptress all within ourselves at once. Can we blend our beauty and pure loving hearts, our shadow dark side and our wounded side that makes us feel insecure in one crazy blend? This blend offers healing, integration and ultimately love. This love is real because it's a love there despite imperfections, wounds, sides of ourselves that are hidden and usually unaccepted as well as the typically lovely beautiful parts of ourselves.

Then we have asteroid Ceres in Aquarius exactly square Uranus in Taurus. Boy has Uranus been big lately, dealing out the unexpected. We're being urged to nurture the unexpected that's shown up in our lives. Nurture the weird. This sense of freedom. It's ok that things feel different and unusual. Nurture that! Nurture your dreams within this weird space. Ceres though being nurturance can also be what brings us comfort. Perhaps there's too many shakeups and too many surprises. It feels too different. So you don't feel comfortable. It can be so hard to feel comfortable right now. Embrace the uncomfortable.

Then we have Mercury in Pisces trine the North Node in Cancer, while Pallas Athene asteroid of wisdom sextiles both. Mercury is going to go retrograde on February 17th. It's time to say what you need to say before then! It's trine the North Node, it's a time to get our minds aligned with our hearts. For communications that set us on the right path in our life. Destined communications so to speak. Time to speak from the heart. The mind isn't involved here, yet with Pallas Athene wisdom is. Tap into your inner wisdom and your heart. Let them be your guide. We also have asteroid Vesta sextile Neptune in Pisces. This is just all about tuning in to your spirit. All that is. Tap into the flow. Get aligned. Trust your intuition to guide you at this time.

Such a powerful Full Moon! It really took pulling up my advanced chart to see how powerful it is though. Release that which is holding back an authentic life. Step into relationships despite imperfections, feeling good enough. Unleash what you've kept suppressed. Commit to those authentic relationships. Step into the new. Speak from your heart and let your wisdom and spirit be your guide.
