Full Moon in Cancer: Get in Touch With Your Feelings

Happy Winter Solstice and beginning of Capricorn season everyone! We start off winter with a Full Moon in Cancer that is exact tomorrow morning.

Befor I get into the energy of the actual Full Moon, I want to talk about some aspects that we have had leading up to it. These aspects aren't exact anymore, but yet they make up part of the energy at the moment still. First of all the Sun and Chiron were square. That was about needing to heal the feeling of the void within. Then the Sun was in a trine with Uranus, which was about change and looking towards the future. Then Mercury was conjunct Jupiter, which is a very optimistic, expansive, exciting and again very future oriented aspect. Then Venus was trine Neptune, which is dreamy and romantic. All this energy that was the build up to the Full Moon, is still affecting us a bit.

Full Moons are usually a culmination point and also a time to let go. With the Full Moon happening at 0 degrees however, it also marks a beginning point as well. With the Moon in Cancer it's definitely a time to let go of any feelings we have been holding on to. It's actually been a watery time recently. Lots of feelings! The Moon actually is the sign that rules Cancer as well, so this is totally a very emotional time. Let those pent up feelings go. When you do that, you can have a new beginning emotionally. You can be in a totally new space in your feelings.

Now Full Moons are never made up of one energy. They actually are made up of the Sun and the Moon in opposite signs. The Moon wouldn't have any phases without the Sun after all. This Full Moon we are dealing with the Cancer and Capricorn axis. This axis has a lot to do with security. Capricorn with material security and Cancer with emotional security. Perhaps during this we need to release things we've been clinging to thinking they're making us feel secure, but they're really not. Discovering where a true sense of security comes from.

The Nodes are in Cancer and Capricorn, so this energy will continue to be a big focus. Figuring out how secure we feel, dealing with security issues and realizing where true security comes from. With the North Node in Cancer a huge emphasis is and will be on feelings and our changing moods etc. We have to accept the emotional part of ourselves and pay more attention to it.

~Overall this is a powerful Full Moon as it starts to get us more acquainted with the Nodal energy. This is an emotional time. Pay attention to your feelings. Let go of those that don't serve you. Be emotionally secure within yourself. ~

Starting 2018 with a Full Moon in Cancer

On New Year's day 2018 we are having a Full Moon in Cancer. What a way to start the New Year!

Full Moons are typically a time of culmination with a period of release following it.
Let's delve into the themes and aspects of this Full Moon to see what is culminating and what needs releasing.

With this Full Moon we're dealing with the Cancer-Capricorn axis. This is an axis that deals with security. Cancer with emotional security; wanting to feel safe and nurtured. Capricorn is about security more on a physical/material plane.

It's time to release some needs for security that aren't serving us anymore. There's a huge emphasis on Capricorn energy right now with four planets being in Capricorn including Saturn and Pluto. There's a bigger emphasis on the Capricorn energy than the Cancer energy. It's important to release some emotional, needy security issues because of this. The Cancer side of things seems to need the most releasing, although if you have Capricorn material security issues holding you back,  you should look at that as well. All the heavy Capricorn energy is urging us to build the lives we want though. It's the time to focus on that and release security issues that are holding us back from manifesting what we want in our lives.

With this Full Moon it would ideally be good to find balance between Cancer and Capricorn needs however. Find balance between what your emotions want and what works best for you in the physical/material world.

Not only is it important to start building the life we want this month with all the Capricorn energy, it's important to remember that Saturn just entered Capricorn. We're starting a two and half year cycle right now. The things we decide to build will have long lasting results.

Out of the four planets in Capricorn at the time of the Full Moon, a conjunction between the Sun and Venus is the closest. This means that relationships for some people are a big focus at this time. Trying to build one or manifest the one we want. Venus is Capricorn takes relationships seriously. This really isn't a time to just mess around. There's a desire for much more than that.

The biggest aspect at this time is an exact trine between the Moon and Neptune. This is Neptune trying to positively help us. Urging us to connect to our spirituality. When the going gets tough connect back to the source. With all the security issues you may be feeling, remember that our greatest sense of security simply comes from the divine or the universe. Trust in the universe at this time. Neptune even at it's best can make things seems a bit foggy, so use it's positive side to trust in the universe and connect spiritually.

I wanted to mention that the day after the Full Moon Uranus goes direct. This could bring up something unexpected. When that happens though, all planets will be direct. That's kind of a big deal. You usually hear about the personal planets going retrograde, but outer planets go retrograde pretty often and for long periods of time. With all planets direct now, it's full steam ahead.

Two big aspects that we have to look forward to soon that I also wanted to mention are a conjunction between Mars and Jupiter and a sextile between Jupiter and Pluto. Things will really be moving and expanding to get us to our soul's deepest desires with the Mars and Jupiter conjunction. Jupiter sextile Pluto is a rare and important aspect that will really be pushing us to transform and grow. Lots of change coming!

The last thing I wanted to talk about may shed some light as to why it seems like there could be a bit of information lacking in our lives. We have all this Capricorn energy urging us to start building the lives we want, but Mercury is a straggler in Sagittarius. It turned direct a little bit ago, but hasn't caught up to where it was when it went retrograde. It's backtracking. It may feel like part of the truth is still missing or like we're still seeking where we should point our arrow to some extent.

~Overall this can be an intense and emotional time. Yes, this is a Super Moon so the energy is magnified and the Moon is in it's home sign of Cancer. Talk about feeling all the feels! This is quite the way to start the year. It's a time of release and culmination, so that we can really start to build the life we want. Change and transformation are coming, even if we're still a teeny bit unsure where things are going at the moment. It's all coming together in a big way though, and it will really be interesting to see how January plays out. ~

Full Moon in Cancer: Activating a Cardinal Grand Cross

On Thursday ( January 12th 2017 at 3:34 AM) there will be a Full Moon in Cancer. There is so much going on around this Full Moon as it is activating a grand cross. A lot of energy we have been dealing with is coming to a head and there is a lot culminating at this time. It's a sensitive time with the Moon in it's home sign of Cancer and it's a time of release since it is a Full Moon.

The grand cross is taking place in Cardinal signs. Cardinal energy is the modality of initiation, so theres a lot of high energy right now. We just got out of Mercury retrograde, so after that period of slowing down we've now got a lot of energy that wants to move forward in many directions.

Moon in Cancer
The Moon in Cancer is activating one part of the grand cross. The Moon is the emotional part of this configuration and the part that wants to nurture and take care of others since it is in Cancer.

Sun in Capricorn/Pluto
The Capricorn part of the grand cross on the other hand wants us to set some boundaries when it comes to giving to others. It's urging us to be practical and get done what needs to be done. Pluto is a transformational influence here urging us to transform these relationship dynamics while alerting us as to what needs to be done.

Jupiter in Libra
The Libra part of the grand cross is making us look at relationships and desire them. It's making us look at the 'we'. What needs to be done to have compromise and harmony? We are being urged towards growth in regards to partnership.

Uranus in Aries
The Aries part of the grand cross is making us desire independence. It's urging us to express ourselves as unique individuals. Uranus in this grand cross gives us a bit of a restlessness. All these cardinal planets in general are also contributing to restlessness because there is such a strong desire to move forward and we are being pulled in different directions.

Chiron and Saturn
Chiron and Saturn are not part of the grand cross, but they are being activated around the Moon at this time as well. Chiron is urging us to deal with and release emotional wounds while Saturn is similar to the Capricorn part of the grand cross in that is bringing up stuff that 'needs to be  done'. Saturn may be quite helpful in helping us be a little more structured at this time as well. Saturn and Chiron are even making an aspect to each other, which is a bit difficult because it is a square. This is making it a bit difficult to deal with our wounds, but the Full Moon is giving us the opportunity to let go if we so choose.

Phew! This is a high energy Full Moon with a lot of planets involved. It may seem that we are being pulled in different directions, but the key is to try to find the right balance between everything. There is a lot of change and new beginnings though right around the corner, we are just getting amped up and prepared for it.

Full Moon in Cancer: The First Crazy Full Moon of 2015

© fineartamerica.com

Happy New Year everyone! The New Year is starting out rather intensely astrologically speaking,  with a Full Moon on January 4th 2015 at 8:53 PM (PST). The Full Moon will be in Cancer and it is chock full of aspects with other planets.

The Full Moon in Cancer is rather an emotional Moon placement as Cancer is the sign that rules the Moon. If emotions come up during this time, try to release and work through them. With the Moon in Cancer and the Sun in Capricorn, it is important to release things that make you feel comfortable, but that aren't serving your higher purpose or helping you realize your dreams and ambitions.

Pluto is conjunct the Sun and opposing the Moon during the Full Moon. This adds a bit of harshness to this astrological event. Pluto's appearance at this Full Moon signifies that change is indeed coming, whether we like it or not. We will possibly be forced to welcome change and transformation into our lives.

Chiron plays a part in this Full Moon by a trine to the Moon. This means that we will have to release any wounds we might have during this time. The goal with this Full Moon is basically to release everything that is preventing us from being successful in our lives. Emotional and psychological wounds are of course things that hold people back from living to their fullest potential, so it's very important to let these go.

The Nodes play a part in this Full Moon by forming a Grand Cross with both the Sun and the Moon. This means that some karmic issues may come up. The North Node has played a big part in the cosmos recently and I'm sure many of you have felt it. It has pushed us to compromise in relationships, which may have been a bit frustrating. Once again during this Full Moon we have to release anything we have stubbornly held onto that is preventing us from compromising.

Overall this is going to be an intense Full Moon. A lot of feelings are probably going to come up for a lot of people. The key is to be patient, to understand that you are feeling this way because of this cosmic event, and to release the things you are feeling. The big things that need to be released during this time are wounds, karmic issues, resistance to change, unwillingness to compromise and anything that makes you feel comfortable that isn't actually healthy for you. I wish you all the best and I hope your New Year will be filled with success and that all your dreams for the year will come true.
