Full Moon in Libra: The 'Self', Relationships and Being the Architect of Your Own Life

This Saturday (March 31st 2018) we are having a Full Moon in Libra! It's been an intense time lately and this Full Moon is no different. There's a lot going on around it.

The Full Moon happens when the Moon and the Sun oppose each other. The Sun and Moon are equally important in a Full Moon and we always deal with two opposite energies. This Full Moon the Sun is in Aries and the Moon is in Libra. The basic energy of this Full Moon all other aspects aside is all about balancing yourself and your own independent needs with that of a relationship or relationships. It's about finding compromise and releasing anything holding you back from that.

The Sun in Aries is the part of the Full Moon that deals with the 'self' and our independence. The Sun will be conjunct Mercury, which is retrograde, during the Full Moon. This means there's quite a bit of reflection around this time. It's important to really go deep within yourself and reflect at this time. Reflect on who you are, your own independence and how that fits into relationships with other people. Reflect on relationships as well and what you think makes a relationship harmonious. The past may keep popping up at this time. You could be thinking about past events. Times when you may have given yourself up for another person or times when you were willful and selfish and didn't really put the effort you should have into a relationship. Times when things weren't really fair and harmonious. It's important to sort through all these things, so that ultimately you can be happy with yourself and happy within your partnerships.

The Moon is in Libra for this Full Moon and Libra is ruled by Venus. It's important to take note that the day of the Full Moon Venus enters Taurus. There's a new fresh Venus energy starting that day. Besides ruling Libra, Venus also rules Taurus. This is a good Venus placement. Grounded and sensual. Much better than when Venus was in Aries. This can help us out in the relationship arena. Venus in Taurus gets along with all the Capricorn energy that's going on right now, which is very helpful. Venus in Aries did not do that.

The difficult part of the Full Moon is a square to both Mars and Saturn in Capricorn. This whole Aries season has been marked by squares that all the planets in Aries are making to all the planets in Capricorn. It's interesting because Aries is ruled by Mars and Mars is in Capricorn! So not only is all the Aries energy coming up against Capricorn blocks, it's ruled by it! It's quite a Saturnian and Capricornian time. We may feel like we're coming against blocks of different kinds, which can bring out anger and frustration in some people. There's a sense of restriction and not being able to move forward quite yet or get what we want. Aries energy is impulsive. We can't be impulsive at this time though. If you were to act impulsively right now the price to pay would be pretty high. Aries is the child and Capricorn is the parent that says 'no!'. It sounds like a bummer, but it's all for a reason. The universe is always on our side, remember that. We can indeed have what we want, but we must be patient, build slowly and be practical. Saturn rules authority and parental figures. We need to step into our own authority and be our own parent. These aspects we are having are forcing us to 'grow up'. Take your life seriously! Decide what you want seriously and start building it practically and responsibly. When you act like a little child who just impulsively wants things and so you just does things without thinking, you are not serving your highest good. Take your own life seriously and think about whether something contributes to the greater plan of your life before you do it. The brakes are on at this time, but it's for a greater purpose. This also contributes to relationships. We should take them more seriously as well. Decide what you want to build in terms of relationships and be committed to that.

You are the architect of your own life. Sit down and think about what kind of life you would like to build. What do you truly want for yourself that would serve your highest good? What do you want your relationships to look like? Sit down at the drawing board and think. Reflect on things that have already happened to get clearer on what is right for you. When Mercury Retrograde is over you can start drawing. Perhaps you are truly sitting down to a clean slate at this time because of lots of changes. Perhaps you have already been drawing up the life you want, but you need to take a break and reflect on it. Do you need to tweak some things? Have you decided you
want to add something you didn't know you wanted before? You only get this one life as the person you are now, so take it seriously and decide to create a life that is fulfilling.

Mercury Retrograde in Aries

It's Aries season, the season of new beginnings where the desire to charge forward is strong. A Mercury Retrograde started on March 22nd though and Mercury will be retrograde for three weeks. It's time to hold your horses and turn within right now.

Typical Retrograde Things to Keep in Mind

1. Miscommunication
This is extra highlighted with Mercury in Aries, which is an impulsive communication placement to begin with. Watch what you say! Really think about what you're going to say before you say it because it could very easily be taken the wrong way this retrograde.

2. Technology Issues
Any technology, gadgets or forms of transportation could get a little wonky at this time. Patience is key. Some things go wrong because you put off fixing it beforehand.

3. Travel
It's totally ok to travel during Mercury Retrograde. I've done it myself and it went smoothly. It's just important to be careful with your travel plans and make sure you double check everything and use caution.

4. Don't Start Any New Ventures or Sign Contracts
Sometimes life happens regardless of Mercury Retrograde and you could find yourself having to sign something. Just really take your time to read everything if that's true. New things started are usually subject to change during this time.

5. Don't Make Huge Purchases
You could regret it later and wonder why on earth you thought it was a good idea to spend so much money on whatever it is you happened to buy.

5.The Past Resurfacing
The past could come up. Sometimes you need to deal with or reflect on something form the past. Other times people from the past pop up, but it doesn't necessarily mean much. Use discernment.  For relationships in particular this can be an interesting time. It isn't totally advisable to start something new or end a relationship during this time. Things aren't clear right now and the nature of things could very easily change when the retrograde is over.

What is this Retrograde Good For?
This is a time to put on the brakes a bit. Reflect. Rethink. Redo. Basically anything with Re in front of it. With Mercury in Aries our minds may be full of exciting new ideas. This needs to be a time of reviewing and planning what we would like next in our lives. Aries is ruled by Mars, so this retrograde is ruled by Mars in Capricorn. Mars in Capricorn reminds us to build brick by brick. This is a time for planning, not running head first into something. Stay practical.

Aries also has to do with independence and individuality. It is the first sign of the zodiac. The statement Aries makes is simply, 'I Am. ' It's a good idea to really tune into yourself and ask yourself 'who am I?' Mercury will trine the North Node in Leo pretty early on too, which furthers this energy. North Node in Leo has been about getting in touch with our authenticity. This can be a great time to really turn inwards and think about your identity and what is authentically you. Spend some quality time with yourself.

New Moon in Pisces: Time to Heal Your Connection to Your Spirit and the Universe to Birth a New You

On Saturday March 17th 2018, we are having a New Moon in Pisces! A connection to Chiron makes this New Moon a great healing opportunity.

New Moon's always mark a period of new beginnings where we can plant seeds. This is an interesting one though because Pisces is the end of the zodiac and this New Moon is taking place at very late degrees of Pisces. So there is a feeling of needing to complete something at this time. We have the astrological new year coming up next week, which starts to usher in new energy. Yet, then we have a Mercury Retrograde and we will need to reflect. There's lots of different energies right now. We have newness and opportunities for fresh starts, yet needing to complete a cycle and the need to reflect.

With the New Moon in Pisces what we do have an opportunity for is a new beginning on the level of of spirit. The most significant thing happening during this New Moon I think, is a conjunction to Chiron. Chiron is at the end of Pisces as well. It has been there since 2010 and is about to leave in April. Not only are we tying up an astrological year, but we are also ending a Chiron cycle.

With this New Moon happening next to Chiron at the end of Chiron's time in Pisces we have an opportunity to heal. Especially the things we have gone through since 2010. Time to lay those issues to rest. When we heal and integrate these lessons, we are able to have a fresh start on a soul level at this time.

The things that are begging to be healed at this time have to do with our spirits and our sense of spirituality. If you have been disconnected from your own spirit, it's time to connect. No more feeling lonely and isolated. No more feeling like something is missing. What you're missing is your own beautiful true self! Connect to the universe and all that is as well. Whatever your beliefs may be, connect to some sort of spirituality. Remember there is more than this material world. Maybe when you think about the bigger picture, it doesn't all seem so hopeless. Think about this vast and amazing universe you are apart of!

This is a time to stop being a victim. Embrace yourself and your experiences. It's also important to stop escaping. It's kind of funny that this New Moon falls on St. Patrick's day because lots of people like to drink on that day. Some may really feel like it because of the Pisces energy, but that is the lower manifestation of Pisces. You won't heal your wounds in a bottle. You can heal them when you start to realize how whole you already are on a spirit level. Escapism through substances will only block deeper connection. It won't fill the void you feel either.

While the goal is to heal, we may find that wounds come up at this time. We could feel sensitive. Let the healing process happen though. Chiron in Pisces is only trying to heal our disconnection from the universe and our spirits and all the wounds that come from this disconnection. At the end of Chiron in Pisces, it's just so important to realize this. We will have a retrograde where Chiron will go back into Pisces later in the year and we will have an opportunity to revisit some things, but it's still important to heal now. Humanity has become disconnected from spirit and it's time to heal. We've been so focused on this material world and all the madness. We're missing out on the unity, beauty, and wonder of our souls and the universe.

~Overall this is a time to let go of the old and finally lay some wounds to rest. Heal our connection to our spirits and all that is. Then during this time you can birth a new you. A you that is more healed and connected than before. When this happens, watch the magic unfold~
